Chili Appetizer

In a glass pie plate, layer the following:

Bottom: one 8 oz. package of Light Cream Cheese

Next: 1 can Spragg chili (Safeway – comes in varying degrees of heat)

Next: 1 finely chopped red pepper (can add green or yellow)

Next: 1 cup salsa

Next: 1 to 1 ½ cups grated cheddar cheese

Can be refrigerated (cover with Saran) til ready to use.

Cook in microwave oven for about 6 minutes (or until a bit crusty or golden coloured around the edges). Keep an eye on it, especially if your microwave is a powerful machine. The cooking time will be less.

Web Wizard’s Note: I love this recipe! My stepmom introduced it to us and it became an on-request item for birthday parties, watching tv and other family gatherings. We’d serve it with nacho chips for dipping.
